Our newsletter editor Elle Tallgren has also published an article in this issue on the process of journaling, which you can see an excerpt from below.

How journaling gave me a space to flourish

by Elle Tallgren

“When I read the words I have written, I am subconsciously creating a space where I can be more aware of how I encounter myself. When thinking of this process on a wider timescale, even though feelings of shame, guilt, or disappointment sometimes rise to the top, these reactions occur within a larger pool of happiness, excitement, and pride.

Through writing, I am more able to accept that when difficult events, thoughts and emotions come my way, they exist in harmony on the pages of my journal as valuable tools for awareness of lived experience.”

Here’s also an excerpt from Louise’s article published in this new issue:

Flourishing spaces: purpose, qualities, theoretical roots and implications

by Louise Younie

“Flourishing spaces are intentionally cultivated environments in healthcare and higher education that nurture human connection, justice and renewal amid widespread burnout and dehumanisation. Rooted in transdisciplinary theory, they integrate ecological, relational, meaning-making, compassionate and shadow-aware qualities – honouring interdependence, connection, creativity, care and complexity. Drawing on creative enquiry, systems thinking, and social justice, flourishing spaces invite belonging, dignity, and hope through reflective, co-created practice.”
