Creative arts Student Selected Component (SSC) 2024

I have been running creative arts SSC with medical students for 20 years!...In this flourishing workshop one student created this from the playful materials provided,  highlighting how we all seem so different from a distance but when we begin to really share we realise how similar we are and the challenges we face.

The workshop also included a presentation on journaling from Elle Tallgren- a 4th year medical student with interest in creative enquiry and creating flourishing spaces. She shared her lived experience on finding journaling as a helpful tool to navigate through medical school and identify challenges in her academic life and how these affected her mental health. The students were very receptive for this and the presentation followed with 10 minutes of silent creative time, during which some chose to journal about their day.
