New Oxford Handbook featuring a chapter by Professor Younie

Flourishing Spaces is pleased to share the arrival of a new Oxford Handbook of Mental Health and Contemporary Western Aesthetics, which includes a chapter by Professor Louise Younie. The chapter, titled Developing Clinician Insight into Practice Through the Aesthetic Lens, explores how creative and reflective practices can support clinicians in understanding the emotional, relational, and embodied dimensions of their work. It explores how the arts can open space for deeper awareness in clinical encounters.

Professor Younie also discusses the shift from purely diagnostic thinking toward a more holistic orientation, one that focuses on human dimensions and the lived experiences of both patient and practitioner.

We are glad to welcome this publication into our library and look forward to the conversations it may inspire within the Flourishing Spaces community.
